King of the Savannah (DW26)

»Review«

King of the Savannah” is a still life that isn’t really one—rather, it’s a play on words and images, since the German word for “dandelion” already evokes its image.

Ultimately, it is a composition assembled from a photo of a meadow—which was transformed into an “English lawn” using AI—a blooming dandelion plant, a dandelion puff, and a skull mouth with lion’s fangs created using generative AI, with these individual components finally being combined into the complete work after further processing.

The work is part of the short series ‘Dutch Works 26’ (DW26), which was created in the context of the ‘Dutch Papers 26,’ Artdigazine No. 2.

… and by the way: I love dandelion jelly.
