(a) Ciel Ouvert

“(à) Ciel Ouvert” — The title carries two readings: set aside the parenthesized à and what remains is simply “open sky.” Factor it back in, and a different perspective opens up. The sky takes everything in — but what does it do to the things that have already wreaked havoc on earth, once they are lifted from it and swept into the heavens?

The photograph captures the sky above Dinard, Brittany, and belongs to the project “Motifs nuageux particuliers — Rétrospective Dinard 25,” placing it within the SKY series. The SKY series explores the theme of “SKY” across three dimensions: visual, textual, and sonic.
